Before setting up Hunt-Brady Recruitment, Abbie became a lawyer through a fairly traditional route – qualifying into the banking department in a top City firm (having done a client secondment whilst training).

Keen to focus onto the people side of the industry, Abbie moved into legal recruitment. Discovering a number of different styles of recruitment and working out her own - one that focuses on the ‘matchmaking’ of legal moves - she works with a vast spread of firms (from boutique/West End to US) across practice areas.

Her experience across the legal and recruitment industries has given her a broad and current working knowledge of recruitment from both sides of the table - both in terms of what motivates candidates to move and what they may be seeking in new roles, and what it is that law firms are looking for and how they determine this/the best fit for their teams.

Mental Health awareness is of huge importance to Hunt-Brady Recruitment. Burn-out, depression, anxiety and imposter syndrome are very real issues in the legal profession. Whilst in private practice, Abbie had an active role in the mental health committee at Norton Rose Fulbright. To further her commitment to championing wellbeing in the legal industry, Abbie has qualified as a Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider®️).

“I can’t recommend Abbie enough.  She was incredibly attentive and supportive during my job search, She was completely understanding of my reasons for moving jobs and in turn bore those reasons in mind when suggesting potential law firms, to ensure that I found a perfect match.  Her knowledge of the market and support throughout the application/interview process was invaluable, and she listened to my requests as to how I personally would find the process less anxiety-inducing.  I have been at my new job for nearly a year and love it, and while I don’t see myself changing jobs for a long time, if I do I will definitely go back to Abbie."
